A privately held firm, Jones Edmunds was established after two young American engineers - Dr. Richard H. Jones, Ph.D. and Robert C. Edmunds, P.E. - met in Germany while viewing wastewater treatment process equipment. Over the following 30 years, the firm expanded on its civil engineering expertise, adding offices throughout the state.

Today, Jones Edmunds consists of more than 170 employees and is considered by Engineering News-Record to be a Top 500 Design firm and a Top 200 Environmental firm.
